Let yourself be enchanted by this wine's unique character, which is tied to its terroir and combines its elegant structure with the freshness of lively acidity, giving it great enjoyment on the table and a long lifespan. It should be served between 16-18 °C.
On the nose, red and black berries and spices stand out. The impressive fruit concentration lets the wine linger on the palate.
The tannins are soft and well integrated, offering a solid structure without being overly dry. All this is supported by a discreet acidity.
An elegant and unique wine that remains true to its origins and pairs well with dishes of intense flavor. Should be served at 16-18ºC; decanting is recommended.
Origin: The vineyards are located in the Cima-Corgo (Alijó) sub-region at an average altitude of 500-600 m on slate and granite soils.
Grape varieties: Hand-picked grapes from old vineyards (over 70 years old) with a great diversity of native varieties (more than 20), especially Tinta Barroca, Tinta Roriz, and Rufete.
Vinification and aging: The grapes are harvested in September and October. 65% destemmed with minimal crushing
long fermentation in small tanks, 3 months maceration after fermentation for part of the final cuvée.
Malolactic fermentation in French oak barrels and chestnut barrels (15% new). Bottled after 36 months of barrel aging.
Pairs well with: Meat (roast beef), duck, game (wild boar).
