Welcome to Maître Philippe & Filles.
Maître Philippe & Filles brings France and Portugal to Germany … at least culinarily. The Berlin delicatessen with its extravagant and lovingly curated selection of cheese, wine, French delicacies, and many colorful tinned fish has been around since 1994 and has now become a true family business. Founded by Philippe Causse, Maître Philippe is increasingly run by his two daughters, Anaïs and Noémie. The necessary support comes from a small, enthusiastic, and competent team.
The history of Maître Philippe & Filles.
Philippe, who came to Berlin from Marseille by way of a detour and stayed for love, can look back on many years of experience in the wine industry and has a knack for good vintages. Anaïs, the elder daughter, joined the team in January 2010. The younger daughter, Noémie, also joined in 2013. She looks after the online business. Rosalie, the granddaughter and Anaïs' daughter, took her first steps in the shop, just like her mother and aunt once did in one of Philippe's earlier shops during his early days in Berlin. Perhaps she will join the business one day too ...?
The philosophy.
The philosophy of Maître Philippe & Filles is simple: we only sell products that we ourselves are enthusiastic about. Whether Camembert, Crémant, or Cotriade, we taste everything and strictly choose only the best. For our cheese selection, we have worked with the renowned Lyon affineur Christian Janier, the grey eminence of cheese, from the very beginning. This is reflected in a compelling selection that our customers love. We also only source our wine and tinned goods from producers we know personally.
The selection.
As we are always keeping our antennae out for new delicacies, our selection has now expanded to include all kinds of other fine products from France and Portugal. In addition to cheese and wine, you will also find pickled olives and fresh charcuterie, traditionally prepared pâtés and terrines, fruity preserves, various types of honey, oil, vinegar, salted caramel candies, and small pastries at Maître Philippe & Filles ... Maître Philippe & Filles is now particularly famous for having probably the largest selection of gourmet tinned fish from France, Spain, and Portugal.
