Almost every France fan has held an Opinel N°08 in their hand at least once — the iconic pocket knife that has been made in Savoy since 1890.
The Horizon version is the outdoor edition: a khaki handle made of glass-fiber-reinforced polyamide that withstands water, impacts, and temperatures from –40 to +80 °C.
The 8.35 cm stainless steel blade stays sharp — whether for slicing saucisson at a picnic, a piece of Comté at the mountain peak, or a cord that suddenly needs to be shortened.
A whistle is built into the end of the handle (110 dB, audible up to 300 m) — handy if you get lost while hiking.
The lanyard loop allows the knife to be hung from a backpack or belt. And the Virobloc safety ring, an Opinel invention from 1955, locks the blade in both the open and closed positions.
Made in France, with a lifetime warranty.
