La Belle-Iloise is perhaps the best-known and most colourful manufacturer of canned fish and soups in the world! With classic recipes and creative combinations of sardines, tuna and mackerel, the family-run company has secured a firm place in the hearts and on the plates of many gourmets.
Founded in 1932 by Georges Hilliet near the Breton port town of Quiberon, the company is now in its third generation. All products are the result of meticulous craftsmanship, even though a total of 800 employees work in the factory during the peak sardine season.

Manufacturer's address: Conserverie la Belle-Bloise, ZA Plein Ouest, 56 170 Quiberon, FRANCE

Mackerel is a migratory fish that travels in large schools. In winter, mackerel stays in deep water, but in spring it migrates close to the coast, where it finds more food. It is fished between mid-January and mid-March.

Canned mackerel is often prepared with even greater care than, for example, canned sardines, in which the fish are packed whole: mackerel, on the other hand, is first carefully filleted and gutted by hand. This means our canned mackerel contains no bones, scales, or heads, making it an excellent choice, especially for beginners.
