Two French family businesses in one box: Conserverie La Belle-Iloise from Quiberon and the Opinel cutlery company from Savoy.
La Belle-Iloise contributes five of its spreads, while Opinel provides the blue No. 117 spreading knife engraved with the Belle-Iloise logo. That’s everything you need for an apéro, except the bread and a bottle.
The five recipes offer a wide range of flavors. The “Saveurs de la Garrigue” tuna émietté features black olives, fennel and herbs de Provence. The mackerel émietté “à la Boucaniers” is the most robust tin in the box, with lime, paprika and smoked salt. The salmon spread with tarragon and the mackerel rillettes with wakame seaweed and lemon are the more delicate, creamier spreads. The sardinade with two varieties of olives tastes of Southern France.
The box is made in Morbihan and inspired by the Art Deco era. It is flat enough to slip into your bag as a gift, yet attractive enough to keep.
We recommend serving it with a baguette or rye bread, a few radishes and a dry white wine from the Loire.
