The gourmet sardines from Real Conservera Española come exclusively from the area around the Rías Gallegas. Sardine fishing is coastal fishing, meaning it is carried out in coastal waters.
The sardines are caught in the Atlantic using traditional methods, always choosing the ideal time of day and year when they are fattest, ensuring their juicy texture and exceptional flavor.
During processing, the sardines are cleaned by hand, with the head, tail, and remaining entrails removed from the belly cavity. This is done with great care so as not to tear the belly or skin. They are then washed in brine and grilled individually to roast them as in the old days and give them the desired texture. They are then placed in the packaging with their olive oil coating liquid (85% refined and 15% extra virgin olive oil). These cans are always packed by hand, with the sardines selected by size.
After packaging, the sardines have a shelf life of 6 years when stored in a dry place at room temperature.
For consumption, we recommend eating them on toasted bread with fresh tomato or salted butter and thin onion slices.
